New Classes for 2017
Here's our list of classes for the next couple of months.  Come and learn new techniques, exchange ideas, make a new friend, get out from behind the computer and have some fun!  
Wool Summertime Sampler
Starts Saturday, January 28th.  Learn how to applique with wool.  We’ll show you how to prep the pattern pieces, how to applique (it’s really easy!), plus we’ll show you lots of stitches to embellish with.  We’ll spend the whole day together at the first session.  After that we will meet once a month to learn different embroidery stitches.  Saturday, January 28th, 9-4, with a break for lunch.Plus Saturdays, Feb.4th, March 4th, April 8th, May 6, from 9:30-11:30 to learn the stitches! Cost $99.
Hand Embroidery Stitches
Starting Saturday, Feb 4th.  Learn many different hand embroidery stitches.  You may work on wool or cotton with pearl cotton.   You may stitch on your own project or purchase a kit from us to make a needle case.  If you are taking the Summertime Sampler you are already signed up.  Meets four sessions including Saturdays, Feb.4th, March 4th, April 8th, May 6, from 9:30-11:30.  Cost $75.
Beginning Quilting
January 12, 19 & 26
Pattern: Frame Up Table runner
Cost:  $75.00 includes 3 classes, pattern, fabrics for top, backing and binding, and batting.  We will cut the fabric of your choice before class.

Dates:  Thursday, January 12, 19, and 26, 2017
     Daytime session: 1:00pm - 3:00pm
     Evening session:  6:00pm - 8:00pm

Have you always wanted to learn how to quilt?  This is the class for you!
You will learn how to read a pattern, use basic quilting tools (rotary cutter, ruler, and self-healing mat), sew a precise 1/4" seam, basic quilting techniques, and how to bind your quilt.  Plus we’ll keep it simple so that you can complete the project and move on to the next!  Sign up here!

Finish it Friday
Finish it Friday, Choose, January 27, February 24, or March 24th.  $10 per day or $25 for all three.   Bring your own project, be it machine work or hand work, and get a project done!  Staff will be available to help with your projects too.  Cost $10.  Bring a lunch or join others eating out! 

Snow Friends
Thursday, March 9th.  Learn to machine applique while making these adorable snowmen.  First session you will learn how to use fusible webbing and how to line up all those pieces.  The second session, bring your machine and learn how to make your stitches look very professional!
Cost $$85, includes pattern and hand-outs.  Two sessions, Thursday, March 9, April 13,  1-4 or 6-9.

 Learn to Paper Piece
Learn the fundamentals of paper piecing by working on a small 6"x6" quilt. This is the perfect quilt to fit into the 6" table top hanger. Pattern included in class fee.  Saturday, February 18th, 10-noon.  Cost: $ 25.00. 
Sit and Stitch, 3rd Tuesday of the Month
Come and meet up with your friends and sit and stitch! Bring your wool applique project or other hand stitching along for a morning of inspiration and laughter. We are there to help with any questions you might have. These sessions meet the third Tuesday of each month from 9:30- 12:30. There is no charge, just come!
Wonky Birds
Wed., February 1st.
Wonky Birds from the book, “Hot Flashes of Inspiration.”  Bring bright, colorful scraps of fabric (and some will be provided) to create these fun and creative two will be alike.  Make a few or make a whole flock!  Depending on how many birds you make you can create a pillow, wall hanging, table topper, or even a quilt.  (If you would like to embellish these with threads we suggest taking the Hand Embroidery Stitches class.)  Class with Earlene Wickre meets from 1-4.  Cost $30.  Block shown courtesy of Sandy Siewert.   This block is so much fun!
Bags! Bags! Bags!
In 2017 AIS will launch our Thursday night Bag Ladies Tips, Tricks and Tutorials. (or BLT-3)
We will make 6 different bags from some of the top bag designers in the market!  Each bag will be a different style, and help you grow and gain expertise. Designers, Like Penny Sturgis, Swoon bags, Aunt Annie’s, Susan Rooney, and others! Each bag will be different, and serve a different purpose. We will include bags that will use 2017 Row by Row fabrics, as well as 2017 MN Shop hop fabric.
Details about specific bags will be made available in late December, and may change as new inspirational patterns become available at Quilt market.  We want you to have the hottest bag patterns!
This group will meet every other month on the 1st Thursday starting in February – and meet 6 times (see dates below)

There is no sewing in class – but be sure to bring something to take notes with, as we’ll have lots to talk about!  Sewing can be completed during a Finish-it-Friday session or on your own!
Hexagon Quilts
  After taking this class with Kaffe Fassett and Brandon Malby, we knew we wanted to make more!  We would love to share with you our thoughts on color and design.  This is a design class on so do not bring a machine.  Your top should be ready to sew together by the end of the day!  Class with Earlene Wickre and Sandy Evans, Friday, March 10th, 9-4. Cost $40
Vintage Rose
 Starting Saturday, March 18
This brand new Judy Niemeyer pattern is taught by Certified Instructor, Jodie Madison.  In this class you will learn paper piecing and sewing curves.  Precision sewing even a new quilter can do.  You should have an understanding of rotary cutting to take this class.  
Class meets for two weekends, March 18 & 19 and April 1 & 2.  Cost $190.
Sue Spargo
 Sue is returning for another week of wool applique and thread embellishments.  There will be two classes, to be announced in January in our weekly newsletter.  Due to high interest, names of interested people will be taken in January.  Names will be drawn lottery style as class size is limited.   

Sleep at Home Retreat
January 20-22, 2017
Join us for a three-day retreat right here at All in Stitches. Gather those projects you would like to work on.   We’ll provide snacks, supper on Friday and Saturday night, and lunch on Saturday and Sunday and door prizes.   Plan to eat out on Friday noon.  Cost is $89.  Single day rate of $40 available week of retreat only if space available.  There are rooms to rent above our shop that will hold 2-4 people if you would like to stay over and we may be able to find some homes in the area that would welcome you as well.   Hours are 9-9 on Friday and Saturday, Sunday from 9-3.
Retreats are a great way to spend some time with your quilting buddies or make some new friends. Remember … what happens at Quilt Retreat stays at Quilt Retreat!
