National Quilting Day – March 16th
Let’s celebrate National Quilting Day by doing what we do best! Let’s SEW FOR CHARITY!
We are organizing a group to sew that day. We have entered a contest put on by Quilters’ Sew-ciety. You do not need to be a member to participate though!
We will be making quilts to be used for children in crisis. Sometimes emergency departments need to remove children from crisis situations. It is often in the middle of the night. Let’s make quilts that will provide comfort to these children and teens.
The quilts will be approximately 60”x 70” (lap size). We would like them to have a cotton top and flannel back for extra snuggle value.
We will need people to: Donate fabric, cut kits, donate batting, come and sew!
We are also looking for fabric donations. For the tops we need quality cottons with pieces not smaller than charm (5” x 5”) and for the backs, quality flannels with pieces no smaller than 12” x 12”. That being said we would prefer bigger pieces. Big pieces to fit the backs of quilts would be wonderful.
There is no charge for this event but there are limited seats. Please call the shop (507-732-4101) or sign-up online!! Bring a sandwich for lunch and we'll provide the soup. Fun and Door Prizes!
Let’s make a difference!!
