Bag Ladies 2018: We had so much fun with bags last year that we are going to continue on with our tips, tricks, and demo in 2018. We will be making some amazing bags from designers such as Sew Demented, Sallie Tomato, Gailen Runge, Tiger Lily Press, Annie's, and others - using fabric alternatives such as leather, cork, pleather, vinyl and paper! This year we will include the pattern, and any specialty items and hardware needed to make the bag (fabric, stabilizers and zippers unless indicated, are not included) - that way when you get it all together - you'll have all the necessary items to finish your bag! 6 sessions - $180 (a $230 value)* 3 - sessions - $90.00 1 session - price will vary from $27.00 - $58.00 depending on the bag we are making. Class with Ann Meyers will meet February 15th*, and then the 1st Thursday of every other month – thereafter, April 5th*, June 7th, August 2nd, October 4th, and December 6th. 6:00pm - 7:00pm Remember no sewing in class - but bring a pen or pencil to take notes! Learn many different hand embroidery stitches. Also meets, Thursday, October 25 , November 1 and 8. 1:00-3:00 p.m. or 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. (This is a date change from previous annoucement.)

Until now Sue Spargo's Block of the month has only been offered by mail. Now you can get the block and support to make this fabulous wool project at our monthly block of the month group! Each month you will receive the hand-dyed wool, cotton fabrics, velvet, ribbons and specialty threads for one of the blocks. The first month we will talk about wool applique. Each month Sandy will show different stitches. There is a one time fee of $25 to join the group and $55 per month for the pattern and kit. This group will meet for 12 months. Extra support will be given on the second Saturday of the month. You will need Sue Spargo's Creative Stitching book. Backing, batting, applique and embellishment threads are not included. First month starts Tuesday, September 25th, after that, it is the second Tuesday of each month. There are a limited number of kits available. Sign up now!

Skillbuilderz You've taken a beginning quilting class - but you aren't quite sure how to tackle triangles, diamonds, partial seams, and other quilting techniques. This is the class for you - we will meet for a demonstration of a technique that will build your skill and confidence as a quilter. We will have a small project that uses that skill – (no big quilts to make), and something other than a sampler quilt. Class includes pattern, and class. In this class with Bonnie Bosma, make a collage jacket using old wool sweaters. If you have a bunch of favorite sweaters that you don't wear anymore or if you like to hunt through a favorite thrift shop for treasures, here is a way to create a one-of-a kind garment and be eco-friendly. This stylish go anywhere jacket will catch everyone's eye. You will need 6-7 sweaters in coordinating colors to get started. You will need to pre-shrink them before class. Felting instructions are included. This jacket can be made using fleece as well for a lighter weight jacket. Learn about the history and art of Batik in Indonesia. Batik is the art of decorating fabric using wax and dye. Pam Geerdes and a small group from Rochester traveled to Java and Bali to learn the history and modern techniques used in the production of batik fabric. She will present slides of the process as well as travel photos from the islands they visited. Pam is a quilter and a photographer. The program promises to be a feast for the eyes. Come join us for a fun-filled morning. Our event room will be filled with beautiful batik quilts and there will be refreshments, too. Cost $20
